Lifetime 1531 Basketball System Review

lifetime 1531Our first impression of this hoop is that for an affordable hoop with a 48″ backboard it is of relatively good quality. For most novices the hoop will take awhile to setup, about two hours or so. This is in part due to vague directions in the instruction manual. However, if you can get past these assembly issue you’ll find that the system is well built and ready for action.

The backboard is made of a strong Makrolon polycarbonate material.  One weakness for this hoop is that plastic base of this hoop is cheaper in appearance and utility. Because of this we would suggest that when moving the Lifetime 1531 basketball hoop that handle the system with care to prevent any damage that could occur. Also be aware that a top cap is not included for this hoop. You can easily take care of this by buying or finding an appropriate size cap to fit over the top of the system’s pole. Having this cap in place will help keep the hoop from rusting and ensures that hoop will last you many years of enjoyment.

I also found the adjustment of the board quite easy and simple. A simple feature that is available with the Lifetime 1531 basketball hoop is the ability to pour water or sand into the base to help weigh down the unit. So find the perfect sport for your hoop and fill the base and you are good to go.

While the hoop is not professional grade and will vibrate to most shots that hit the rim or back backboard, this is a solid hoop for the price.  Lifetime basketball hoops is a leader in basketball hoop manufacturing and they can be proud of the product they have here. All in all, this will be perfect for any home looking for a good recreational basketball system.
